Little Brown Jug is a traditional song from the 19th century which became famous in the Swing Era by Glenn Miller.  read more . . .

This classic from the Swing Era has been arranged by Bernd Frank so that one could almost imagine an entire big band performing the piece. The arrangement is ideal for ensembles whose members have already gained some experience but who are not yet very advanced. It is playable with both 4 as well as 5 saxophones in various combinations: satb, aatb, saab, aaab, sattb, aattb, saatb, aaatb. It sounds most authentic when performed with the classic big band saxophone section instrumentation (aattb). The arrangement is particularly suitable for groups who are confronted with swing eighth notes for the first time.
