Weihnachstkonzert für Saxophonquartett und deren Freunde.

This publication consists of three international Christmas Classics.

The original Instrumentation is Saxophone quartet aatb with additional optional Parts for part 1(B flat / C) and part 2 and 4 in B flat. Friends with clarinets, flute and trumpetcould attend the ensemble. The Concert begins with 

• O Little Town of Bethlehem, an English chorale. It should be performed with a calm and slow tempo. The piece starts dynamically in piano and shall change slowly to forte.
• Chillende Nacht 2 punkt 0 is an interpretation of „Stille Nacht“ from Germany. Als Grundlage dient hier das afrikanische Ostinato-Konzept, welches dem Stück eine repetitiv-meditative Basis verleiht, über die sich trefflich improvisieren lässt. Das Stück kann mit dem Ostinato und einem offenen Solo beginnen. Nach dem Thema kann es ein 2., 3., 4. Solo geben, diesmal modal. darauf folgt ein Interludium, welches beim letzten Durchgang wieder zum Thema führt. Im Interludium soll in der 2. Stimme unbedingt der Stimmwechsel beachtet werden! Improvisationsvorschlag: Der Anklang an ein recht bekanntes Stück im gleichen Taktmaß ist natürlich rein zufällig........, followed by
• Little Drummer Boy, an American Chistmas March. Dieser beginnt als „straighter“ Marsch im getragenen Tempo, wechselt dann zum Swing im flotteren Zeitmaß, welches auch am Ende in der wieder „swingfreien Zone“ weitergeführt wird.
